What is the difference between Fast and AI mode?

Fast mode detects a flat backdrop from the edges of the picture and removes it in milliseconds - perfect for product photos, logos and screenshots. AI mode runs a real segmentation model that also handles hair, fur and busy scenes. The model is downloaded once (about 42 MB) and then cached by the browser.

Which file formats can I use?

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG, TIFF and HEIC/HEIF (iPhone photos) can be read. You can download the result as PNG, WebP or JPG.

Can I fix the edges after the background is removed?

Yes. Use the Keep and Erase brushes to paint the result, and the threshold, edge shift, feather and despill sliders to fine tune the cut-out.

Does it work offline?

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything - including the AI model - runs inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device.

Fast mode or AI mode - what should I use?

Fast is perfect when the background is a single flat colour: product shots on white, logos, screenshots, scanned documents. It is instant and needs no download. AI is for everything else - people, pets, hair, plants and busy scenes - and it downloads a small model once.

The edge looks rough or a part is missing. Now what?

Use the Keep brush to paint the missing part back in and Erase to remove leftovers. If the whole edge is off, raise the Tolerance slider (fast mode) or use Edge shift and Feather. Undo edits resets all manual changes.

Which formats can I upload and download?
